Medical Dermaroller treatment

For the natural regeneration of the skin

One of the most important components of the connective tissue of the skin is collagen, responsible for the elasticity of the skin. As we grow older, the collagen content of the body gradually decreases, our skin loses its elasticity, and wrinkles might appear. However, the Dermaroller treatment can increase the amount of collagen produced by the skin.

The Dermaroller treatment is one of the newest and most popular methods of the rejuvenation and regeneration of the skin in cosmetic dermatology. The Dermaroller is a new, simple, and revolutionary tool, capable of stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin without any damaging effects. The positive and healing effect of the Dermaroller can be experienced by men and women alike.

What is Dermaroller?

The original Dermaroller is a medical roller applied with lots of tiny microsurgical pins. These tiny (1.5 mm long) and very thin pins are rolled across the location of treatment.

At BotoxClinic, only those original and sterilised Dermarollers are used which have a CE marking and passed a strict quality and sterilisation test.

Dermaroller can be used by qualified surgeons only.

Further information on the original Dermaroller can be found at the www.dermaroller.de website.

Why and how does the Dermaroller treatment have an effect?

In the course of the Dermaroller treatment, 250 tiny pricks are made on each centimetres of the skin surface to be treated with a roller covered with sharp pins. As a result of the tiny wounds, such biological activators are produced which trigger the self-regenerating and self-healing mechanism of the skin. This leads to a 300-400% increase in the production of collagen fibres. Thanks to this so-called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), the amount of small wrinkles noticeably decreases, skin with large pores becomes smooth, smaller defects of the skin disappear, and the skin tightens. The recovery period is very short.

The Dermaroller can be used effectively not only for the rejuvenation of the face, but also for the small wrinkles of the neck and the cleavage, the paling of the linea nigra, the moderation of cellulite, and the treatment of acne scars, without any adverse effects.

How is the Dermaroller treatment performed?

At the medical consultation preceding the treatment, the expectations of the patient are discussed. The dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon examines the skin surface to be treated, and decides whether the patient is eligible for the Dermaroller treatment or another kind of treatment is recommended (e.g. botox treatment [put a hyperlink here] or wrinkle filling [put a hyperlink here too]).

At the consultation, the process of the treatment, the anticipated result, and the potential adverse effects are explained by the doctor.

Anaesthetic gel is applied as a local anaesthetic to the skin surface to be treated. 30 minutes later, the Dermaroller treatment begins; this might involve the administration of hyaluronic acid and other mesotherapy cocktails. The treatment is effective in itself, but its efficiency can be increased with these substances because the active agents can be absorbed better through the openings made by the tiny pricks. The complete treatment lasts for roughly 50 minutes.

Following the treatment, the skin becomes flushed and swollen, and peels off in a few days. Depending on the individual, these adverse effects can last for 8-32 hours. The appropriate hydration of the skin and its protection from light for 7-10 days after the treatment are very important.
Since the treatment stimulates a natural process in the skin, it acts slowly; it is recommended to repeat the treatment 4 or 5 times altogether for the desired effect, once in every month.

How much does the Dermaroller treatment cost?

Two items are contained in the total sum: the price of the Dermaroller and the occasional treatment fee. The patients can use their disinfected Dermaroller repeatedly, so it is enough to purchase it once.

The price of the treatment depends on the location of treatment and the mesotherapy substance used.
